The Repsol Honda Team lived a very tough day full of emotions, which represented a positive conclusion of the whole season. Despite Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso came home with different results, both of them made the Repsol Honda Team feel proud.
Dani underlined his brilliance at the Valencia circuit courtesy of the best performance he could have ever had. Spaniard started from the second grid position and rode his Honda RC212V in front of all his rivals. Valentino Rossi did not make it and could not reach Pedrosa, who was able to clinch his second MotoGP victory at Valencia. In the Championship Dani gained a precious third place.
“It was great ending the season with a victory” said Dani “overall in front of my home crowd. I’m happy for the team because we worked hard the whole season and finally we made it. I was surprised of the third position in the Championship even if I’m sorry Casey was not in the race”.
Tough start for the Italian Repsol who was left in fourteenth position at the first lap. A lot of determination allowed him to recover ground and battle it out for the seventh position. Unluckily Dovi had to struggle today as well with Ben Spies so that ended in eighth, but he lost one position in the Championship moving from fifth to sixth.
“I had a tough start” stated Dovi “and I lost lot of time even if I made it and overtook many riders. Our aim today was keeping the fifth position in the Championship but we didn’t make it. Anyway the work we did this year was positive and it’ll be useful for next season”.
The 2009 MotoGP World Champion classified second, in front of team mate Jorge Lorenzo, whilst Casey Stoner did not classify because of a crash. In the Championship standings Rossi is the lead rider, followed by Lorenzo and Pedrosa.
