Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso got to the Misano Adriatico track to dispute the qualifying session of the 12th seasonal round. The Repsol Honda duo had to face dog fights with the other combative Top Class challengers and they boldly ended the session respectively with a hard fought first position and an eight place.
After yesterday’s amazing best time, Dani Pedrosa did it again today. Repsol Honda Team Spaniard was the protagonist of a tough battle for the pole position of the San Marino GP, which was desired not only by him but by Jorge Lorenzo as well. At the last lap, Dani edged out his compatriot opening a gap of 0.308s and Pedrosa wrote his name on his fourth pole position of 2010 through the time of 1'33.948.
The qualifying day brought different results to team mate Andrea Dovizioso, who did not find the right feeling with his Honda RC212V today at Misano, after placing in second in yesterday’s free practices. Dovi will start from the middle of the third row and tomorrow will work on the set up options together with the Team.
Dani Pedrosa will head the front row joined by the Fiat Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo and Casey Stoner. The latter, after having taken the leadership for 20 minutes, crashed out but this did not prevent him from recovering and conquering the third spot. Tomorrow at Misano, the MotoGP riders will dispute the Gran Premio Aperol di San Marino e della Riviera di Rimini at 2:00pm, local time.
