The promising Repsol Honda duo got to the track at Indianapolis to face the qualifying session of the eleventh Grand Prix, which will be disputed on Sunday at 3:00pm, local time. The great increase in temperature caused a slowing down also to the young rider, who will start anyhow from the head of the grid second row and is looking forward a solid start to stay with the front riders.
The Monster Yamaha Tech 3 Team American Ben Spies conquered his very first pole position since he has been challenging in the MotoGP; with two laps to go, the Top Class rookie grasped the fastest time of 1’40.105. Jorge Lorenzo, Championship leader and winner of last year’s Indianapolis challenge, had to stop at the second place followed by Nicky Hayden, who delighted the home crowd by placing his Ducati in the front row for the first time of 2010.
